Khorne Blood Bowl Khorngor Colorshift

There are too many red Khorne teams and armies out there. Chaos being chaotic in nature, shifting, magical, mutating, etc it only seamed fitting with Colour shifting paint.

Green Stuff World Colorshift metal Toxic Purple

I ordered a selection of Green Stuff Worlds Colorshift metal range awhile back so I got it out to give it a go.
I got a purple orange and green triad for my chaos dwarfs but I gotten a bit stuck with painting them so I thought I try the simpler scheme of just purple and yellow. Introducing colorshift made it all but simple...

Green Stuff World Colorshift metal Nebula Copper

I primed the black caps with the paint through my airbrush but it looked way to dark. I tried on a white cap and that fitted more he colour on the bottle-sticker and the colour swatch that they sent. I had read on the label that they recommended black undercoat therefore I had already started painting the teams armour pads black,,,

Khorne Blood Bowl Khorngor and Linemen

So I started painting white over the armour pads I had already painted black. Painting white over black is not fun. It started to go to thick and chalky so decided to try over the Zenithal on one model as well and the black. Oh if you haven't noticed I have already applied the colour shift paints on the models above.

Khorne Blood Bowl Khorngor White undercoat

White Undercoat in person you could see a bit of mother of pearl shimmer but not even a hint of violet. I applied it with brush since it would be a hopeless task trying to mask it for the airbrush.

Khorne Blood Bowl Lineman Zenithal primed

Zenithal same mother of pearl shimmer on the darker areas you could start noticing a hint of violet.

Khorne Blood Bowl Lineman black undercoat

Undercoat Black Front you could see a bit more purple in person ut in some angles it was still quite black.

Undercoat Black Side the camera picks up hints of green I didn't see in person.

Removing paint from select area on miniatures

White being a failure I needed to clean my khorngore I tried a bit of solvent on a cotton bud had some success but it would take to long and not get it out of details. I could scrape with my nail so I realised I had a plastic tool to unplug electrical cables inside my laptop that would be quite good. I resorted to a needle and my dentistry/sculpting tool to get in to fine details but also for a lot of the rest since I was growing inpatient. It might have been a bit quicker to strip all and re prime but since I had mixed the colours quite freely and tinted it with reds and browns I doubted I would have been able to get a close match to the rest of the team so didn't want to risk it.

Blood Bowl Fans paint test models

Fans! I have a bunch of models I have rummaged out from my collection. They have been stripped from excessive weapons and put in some what of cheering position or otherwise pose deemed suitable. They will fill my future stands. I decided I would use them to test colour schemes on since fans would come in team colours. Since the fans are usually a motley bunch it wouldn't mater if things went wrong so the perfect guinea pigs for testing but as you saw I was impatient and tried directly on the team. I got these out to try to contain me but I still went ahead on my three players.

Khorne Blood Bowl Khorngor and Linemen several layers of colorshift

Several layers down over black. Now you can start seeing colour coming. In person I could almost only see very pale violet no obvious shifting. Here on the pictures green seem to be more dominant.

Khorne Blood Bowl Khorngor Several Layers of Colorshift Back

Khorngore Several layers. I bunged on some contrast/speedpaints but it all is very dark and grimy so I need to add some layers to bring up the colours to some lighter shades with some pop. But this is a good base to start with,

Khorne Blood Bowl Khorngor Several Layers of Colorshift Side

Khorngore Several layers I've added a bit of the colour shifting copper I don't know if it will have the full effect since it is so small areas, We will see.

Khorne Blood Bowl Lineman Several Layers of Colorshift Back

Lineman back several layers. No clue what to do with the uninspiring boots. I like them on a wandering  adventurer but not on a blood bowl player. I picked these three as test since they would show of the different fields for the colour scheme interaction. This lineman is from Garrek's reaver hence the saga boots instead of trainers and the lineman below is a proper Bloodborn Marauder Linemen from the team box.

Khorne Blood Bowl Lineman Several Layers of Colorshift Front

Lineman front several layers. I am going to have to go over their skin as well which is slightly daunting for me. Not something I feel I have much experience with. The Dark Elf team was my first attempt on more skin than face and hands.
